  1. I'm not being snarky, I went plant-based about a year ago now, but being vegan is so much more than just not eating animal products. Going vegan means you don't exploit animals for any reason, products or food. I still have leather interior in my car so I can't say that I'm "vegan" but I can say I'm plant-based. I learned the differences mid way through my "challenge" (the reason I went plant-based initially was a 30-day challenge). Anyway, I don't eat honey either, because it exploits bees 🙂 anyway I'm glad your feeling great!

  2. So true how this is all real. I started last summer, right before we hang out. I lost 40 lbs within 2-3 weeks (without exercise). My skin is wonderful, people think I got younger, no breakouts or anything. My hair is smoother and I can style it. My digestion and all of if has improved. And you are right, I have more love, more self love, and love for life including animal life. I am thankful for my vegan roommate, who until now makes the best meals, bless him.

    I started taking B12 in my diet, and I have been feeling uplifted and cheerful with energy. So many benefits. I'm happy things are changing in society and vegan variety is being added.

    For butter, I found Earth Balance. For eggs in terms of cooking I am using flax seed. For yogurt, try Soyo Natural, it's very good. For cheese there are a few good ones, we did a video where we taste these in a vegan festival. But, definitely the meat craving has been removed. And just to say, dairy is worst than meat. It makes your skin all wrinkly and inflates your body.

    Next time we hang out, let's have a homemade vegan meal.

  3. Doesn't really seem like you're having a good time in this video. Watching this made me more secure in my choice to never go vegan, seeing that you're having such a hard time, and that your choices are made at the expense of your physical well being.

So I have been vegetarian for over 6 years due to my body having issues (intolerance to animal proteins) and mostly eat vegan however when my body is craving cheese or eggs I will eat them (craving means over 3 days), my boyfriend is eating mostly vegetarian but again if he has cravings for meat or dairy too. I find listening to your body and how it feels is the best for me personally – especially with the craving of over 3 days

  5. I really like that you're being so honest about it but tbh if you don't feel satisfied after a vegan meal, that's your fault and not the vegan food's. It is so possible to be full for hours after eating a vegan meal. You should not just eat a kilo of vegetables, of course that won't fill you up for ages. And you do need to carb up, there's nothing wrong with that as long as you don't just eat redefined carbs. I'm not pretending I'm always eating perfectly and of course if I eat a rather veggie heavy meal, I get hungry again rather quickly, but it's oh so possible to actually be very full of vegan food!

  6. This is probably the best video related to veganism I have seen. Mostly because it is so honest about both good and bad aspects, instead of just being overall biased in one or another direction which almost always happens. And that you also go into detail and know how to talk for yourself and use your body language in a way that seems natural.

  7. I'd just like to point out that this is your experience and not everyone will have it the same. That 6 months of getting gassy etc.? I never experienced that. Being hungry and eating all the time? No way, I eat 1-2 meals a day and I'm very satisfied with that.
    I'm just putting it out there for people who will be put off by your statements, cause it seems like everyone will have it the way you did. Not necessarily. 😉

    What did happen to me too was the change of taste buds. I used to be all about meat and cheese and a meal without those was a meal wasted. Now, I don't like the taste of either of those. Pizza? Yes, but without cheese! I know to some it might sound crazy, it did to me first, like come on, cheese is crucial in pizza. But no! Now I enjoy cheese-less pizza much more. Btw. you can get vegan cheese which tastes the same, I just don't like cheesy taste anymore. 😀

    So for anyone wondering, just give it a try, a fair try for a few months and you'll see for yourself. Other than drama queens on youtube I've never in my real life met someone who started eating vega and regretted it, quite the opposite actually. 😉

  8. What's a Last-Minute Adventurist?

    Well, lets put it this way… I'll get up one morning and say….I want to go to Barcelona! I'll grab a couple of wrinkled shirts and jeans, stuff it in a backpack and I'd be on my way to the airport to catch a flight to Spain. I have tons of stories to share, but I think it would be better if YOU join me in my journeys, instead 😉

  9. I've been vegan for three years and have experienced most of this first hand, it IS tough, but I hope that doesn't turn people off. I personally do it for the animals, they go through SO much suffering, even being vegetarian isn't enough. I encourage everyone who hasn't seen it, to watch Earthlings and/or Forks over Knives, it'll change your life.

  10. I think you'll find the craving for yogurt and cottage cheese will go away, at least it did for me. Other cheeses are a huge problem for me, too. I do love the vegan options, though, like chao cheese for slices, daiya for sprinkle cheese, and kite hill for cream cheese.

  11. I am trying to go vegan, but it's proving to be a little harder than I thought. There are some things I've found really easy to cut out, like milk or eggs because they gross me out. My biggest problems are eating out, and desserts. Where I live, it's really hard to find places that have vegan options on the menu. I also have a really sweet tooth, so I definitely need to get making some vegan desserts. And as you say, it's so frustrating how many products have diary in them when you wouldn't expect it.

  12. I really love your channel Nadine, but I hate it when so many people give "becoming closer to animals" as their primary reason for switching to becoming a vegan. Becoming vegan doesn't make you love or understand animals more. That is a really simple reason and makes those who do eat meat sound as if they are emotionless carnivores. So, don't say that you are somehow "closer" to animals because of your choice to not eat meat. Plus, if you are a true vegan you don't by anything that might have had any kind of exploitation of animals, including makeup. Do you purchase vegan approved makeup, suitcases, clothing, etc? It is great that you have made this life choice and you are having a great reaction to it and you feel healthier. I also commend you on going on such a public channel to tell the world about your vegan lifestyle, but don't forget all the responsibilities of being vegan.

  13. I literally just talked to the people that are cooking for me about not eating dairy and eggs (I´ve been vegetarian for 11 months) and they said they can cook vegan meals! so happy rn <3<3

  15. Hey Nadine! I decided to go Vegan when I was visiting some farms in England. When I was hanging out with all the cows and sheep at Daylsford Farm, I saw how they loved to be petted and shown affection. I decided right then and there I would never order a steak again! My workouts have been better then ever too. Eating lots of dark leafy greens, Avocado, beans, and quinoa keeps my energy up.

    So glad I discovered your channel, your enthusiasm is infectious. Keep it up!

  17. This is eye opening because right now I'm vegetarian except at home where I'm pescatarian because seafood isn't processed (The Bahamas) I love seafood and SUSHI is my favourite food. And that's really the only reason why I'm not pushing to go vegan. It's really just the seafood!
