  1. Let me tell you this, if there is no capitalism there is no free speech there is no rights and certainly no good life. You only have to look through history and now with countries that have adopted communism they have all failed. Fact

  2. wow great eye opener for me … never thought in depth about my vegetarianism …. its a strong argument you make that the fundamentals of capitalism needs to change, not just animal based agriculture …. well said !!!

  3. “The strongest argument for socialism is that it sounds good. The strongest argument against socialism is that it doesn't work. But those who live by words will always have a soft spot in their hearts for socialism because it sounds so good.”—Thomas Sowell

  4. the ad for this video is one of those "i'll teach you how to trade stocks" guys. If i understand how youtube works (maybe i don't) the OP made a (negligible) percentage of this ad revenue. food (npi) for thought

  5. Sorry but this has been some of the biggest nonsense I've heard in a long time, I don't even know where to begin & would like to keep it somewhat short. Let's say if slavery was still around in the US you would probably apply the same logic and say that slavery is a direct consequence of the capitalist ideology (suppression! exploitation! inequality!) so we should end capitalism in order to end slavery. Uhm no actually you should just abolish slavery & move on just like what actually happened…
Likewise if we're talking about the tremendous suffering of animals in a capitalist system you shouldn't automatically assume that we have to end capitalism. Just abolish the slaughtering of animals… It will be hard enough as it is to achieve this. Let's not make it a mission impossible by also demanding a complete change in the economic, political, financial system. It will only marginalize the cause and make it easier to neglect for "the powers that be" and make it harder to reach the goal of achieving a world without animal suffering.
At this very moment there is a vegan entrepreneurship conference going on in Mexico. This is what will bring the change we need & it will be within the capitalist system. Just like Bill Gates investing big in Beyond meat etc (or some other plant based burger company)
    Is capitalism perfect? Obviously not.
Did you provide a solid alternative? Definitely not.

Just my 2 cents, don't want to sound rude. I had an opposing view from the start but watched the whole thing carefully with an open mind

  6. Dumb AF. You won't be making much of a difference without money… if we were socialist, we wouldn't have the option to not eat meat… the state would tell us what we are allowed to buy… terrible video…

  7. Capitalism has an inherent hierarchy, it does not discriminate, it simply dominates whoever is at the bottom. Case in point when straight, cis, white, national, males, fall under capitalism it's branded "classism". I think that animal rights can be achieved within a capitalist system. Though I am pro-socialist myself. I don't, however, agree that Veganism should be a political intersectionalist movement. Many Vegans are opposed to animal abuse yet accept hierarchies and deny systemic discrimination exists – those political differences do not present an inability to support Veganism and promote animal rights.

And a major flaw in your talk… What do you propose should replace Capitalism? At one point you genuinely sounded like you were reading from das capital.

  8. Your like-dislike ratio is approximately 3 to 1… Which is bad, because generally good videos get 30 to 1 or even 50 to 1 ratio. Yet, the comments seem to be mostly positive. Something fishy. Do you censor? Guess we will know soon.

  9. Capitalism: ¨an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.¨

So, do you mean that you want our food sources (from animal or vegetal origin) to be only controlled by the goverment?

When will people learn that capitalism is an economic and social system and not only a social one?
